SCIMET STORY

Mike Ferrell and Rick Lequieu, SCIMET’s Founders, first met in the early 1990’s while working together in the Supplier Development Organization at Nissan Motor Manufacturing, USA based in Nashville, TN.

Then, in the late 1990's both Mike and Rick were recruited out of manufacturing to join McKinsey & Company as co-founders of the McKinsey Manufacturing Practice (MMP). Along with other industry experts, also brought in to co-found the practice, and select McKinsey Partners, Mike and Rick helped build the practice into a thriving client service that is still going strong today.

Following their tenure at McKinsey, Mike and Rick have continued to develop their expertise through both corporate roles such as Corporate Continuous Improvement Director and Vice President of Manufacturing and through independent consulting businesses, collaborating often over the years. Having cultivated extensive experience across a diverse list of industries and companies, Mike and Rick decided to "officially" join forces and start a boutique consulting firm together.

SCIMET’s business was born in October 2018 in Cumming, GA. Leveraging their impressive network of industry experts and independent colleagues who were joining the “gig economy”, their approach to client service has been a blending of internal experts and perfectly matched network associates to best achieve client results.

With Mike and Rick's strong backgrounds in operations, the firm's primary focus has been on Operational Excellence engagements designed to achieve significant, sustainable performance improvement. Our clients include a wide variety of industries from manufacturing to healthcare across an international geography.

We believe in working collaboratively with our clients' Leadership and Front-line Teams to truly learn and understand the real business and help bring the improvement needs and opportunities into sharp focus. We then work side-by-side to help our client craft a customized, executable implementation strategy and continue to support them hand-in-hand throughout their improvement journey.
