THE CHALLENGE
Create capacity in the complex and critical Payroll implementation process that was costly and delaying revenue. Streamlining implementation processes was essential to support 35%+ annual growth.


BUSINESS NEEDS
Engage multiple stakeholders and collaboratively build a simpler and faster process:

  1. Understand the end-to-end process and quantify performance
  2. Identify pain points and develop countermeasures
  3. Build a streamlined implementation process


SCIMET led an effort to map the current process with a cross functional team of key implementation, data, training, and service resources to collectively understand the process. In addition to understanding the end-to-end process, the team gained insight into handoffs, bottlenecks, and complexity drivers. The team realized that simplifying life for the customer would simplify their lives as well and streamline the process. Solutions focused on reducing the customer effort through more hands-on training and support on the front end and building a rework loop into the process. Overall, implementation team effort went from 42 hours to 20 hours per project with duration dropping from 12 weeks to four weeks.
